Thanksgiving . . . A twin

Thanksgiving . . . A twin story (M/f)

by Sampast; Copyright (c) 1999

This story is dedicated to "tink" who inspired me to write a story for Thanksgiving. And also because she is so darn cute.

(This story involves the spanking of a young child. If this bothers you, go away. Okay, all disclaimers aside, on to the story.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up early. It was Thanksgiving morning. I felt grumpy. Daddy would say I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I probably should have rolled over and gone back to sleep, but my stomach was growling.
I made my way down to the kitchen. Mommy and Daddy were already puttering around, getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone was coming here this year: Nana, Grampsie, Aunt Heather, Uncle Bob, Maggie, and the baby. They were excited because it was going to be the first Thanksgiving since we've been in the house.
I went over to Daddy. He was chopping up vegetables.
"I'm hungry, Daddy," I whined.
He looked down at me, surprised. He absolutely hated whining. "Well, good morning to you too, sweetheart," he said, kissing me on the forehead. "Happy Thanksgiving, lovey."
"Happy Thanksgiving, Daddy," I murmured. Like I said, I had woken up kind of grumpy, and was in no mood for any niceties. "Morning, Mommy," I said.
Mommy was alternating between feeding baby Steven and mixing something in a large metal bowl. I went over and peeked in.
"Oh, yuck!" I exclaimed.
"Robin, you don't have to like sweet potatoes, but some people do. Don't say 'yuck'," Mommy scolded.
I made a face. I mean, who cared if I liked something or not, if I said "yuck"? Everyone said "yuck" when they didn't like something. But for some reason, my mother thought it was a federal offense.
I sat down at the kitchen table. Only me and Jenn ever ate in there. When we had family dinners, we always sat at the dining room table. I sat there and I stared at my parents. Neither of them made any move to feed me.
"I'm hungry!" I said again, this time a bit louder.
Daddy looked at me. "Robin, Mommy and I are busy cooking and getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner. You can make yourself a bowl of cereal."
"But I don't want cereal," I whined. I knew I was pushing it a little. But I mean, I was hungry and I didn't want no stinking dry cereal.
Mommy looked at me and then at Daddy and said, "Charlie, I think someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning."
See? What'd I tell you? Okay, okay, so it was Mommy who said it, and not Daddy. But I told you they would say that.
"I did not!" I cried. "I'm just starving to death."
"Robin! You better change your tone, young lady," Daddy warned.
I got up and went over to Daddy and hugged him around the stomach. "I'm sorry, Daddy. It's just that I'm so hungry. I feel like I'm gonna fall over and die."
Daddy looked down at me and actually smiled. "Okay, okay, what would my little princess like to eat?"
I smiled. I liked when Daddy called me by a pet name. It made me feel special. "Hmm," I thought. "How about scrambled eggs with cheese?"
Mommy looked over at me. "Robin, the last time we made you that, you said you didn't like it and refused to eat it."
"That's not true, Mommy. I love scrambled eggs with cheese."
Daddy looked at Mommy. She frowned and put her hands on her hips. "I can't, Charlie, I have to finish feeding Stephen and get some of this stuff into the oven."
"Okay, okay, I'll make it," Daddy said. "But Robin, you had better eat every single bite."
I smiled. "I will, Daddy."
Well, I had every intention of eating it all. But after three bites, I remembered why I hadn't eaten scrambled eggs with cheese in a long time. It was endless! I took another bite and chewed slowly. I didn't think I could eat any more. It was an endless mouthful of endless eggs.
I looked up at Daddy. How could I tell him I didn't want any more? I looked back down at my plate. There was a whole lot left. I was trying to think of how to get rid of them, when my twin sister, Jennifer walked into the kitchen. "Morning, Daddy," she said, kissing our father on the cheek. "Morning, Mommy, Stephen. Hi Robin."
I watched as Jenn kissed both Mommy and Stephen. She came over to the table and looked down. "What'cha eating, eggs and cheese?" she asked me.
"Yeah, want some?" I asked.
"Sure, thanks."
I pushed the plate over to Jenn and she ate the eggs. Well, that was easier than I thought it would be. Daddy looked over at me and frowned.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I was just trying to be a good sister, Daddy. I'll just have some cereal."
Daddy watched me as I got up and got a box of cereal out of the cabinet. I knew he wanted to scold me but if you think about it, I hadn't really done anything wrong.
Daddy turned to Mommy and said, "Lisa, remind me not to make scrambled eggs and cheese for Robin anymore."
Mommy gave Daddy a look that said, "I told you so."
I tried to be real careful as I poured the cereal into my bowl. But it was a new box, and the cereal came tumbling out before I could stop it.
Mommy said, "ROBIN! Now look what you've done."
Daddy ran over and said, "Calm down, Lisa. It's no big deal. She'll clean it up!"
"Gee Mommy, it's not like I spilled the milk. Then you could say, 'don't cry over spilled milk'." I looked at Jenn and we both started to laugh.
Mommy gave me a stern look. "Don't get smart with me, young lady. I have much too much to do today than to deal with this nonsense."
I looked up at Daddy and then at Mommy. "I was just kidding. I'm sorry, Mommy. I'll clean it."
I got down on my hands and knees and picked up every last piece of cereal. Jennifer ate the eggs and did not say a word. You could cut the tension in the kitchen with a knife.
Mommy grabbed Stephen and stormed out of the room. I guess she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, too. I looked at Daddy. He was back to chopping up the vegetables.
I walked over to him and said, "Daddy, what's wrong with Mommy?"
He turned to me and said, "Lovey, if you know what's good for you, you will stay out of Mommy's way today."
"But what's gotten into her? I didn't do anything!" I exclaimed. Actually I was whining. He knew it and I knew it.
"Robin, listen up. You too, Jennifer. Mommy is under a lot of pressure to make this Thanksgiving turn out well. She wants everything to be nice since we're in the new house. She wants to show off that she can do everything."
"But she can do everything," Jenn said. "Mommy's made Thanksgiving before."
"Yes, but now we're in the new house. She wants everything to be perfect. So you two can help by doing everything she asks you and by staying out of trouble," Daddy stated.
"I still didn't do anything!" I whined.
Daddy turned me around and smacked my bottom once, hard.
"OW! Daddddddy!" I cried.
"Robin, what did I just say?" Daddy demanded. When I didn't answer, he said, "I just told you to stay out of trouble. Now, I suggest you stop that whining right now."
"Yes, sir," I said, rubbing my bottom. Boy, it was only one smack, but it had been a hard one.
"Now, sit down and finish your breakfast. Then maybe you need to go back to bed for a few hours, Robin. You're awfully whiny this morning."
I was about to protest when I remembered the sharp smack, so I just kept my mouth shut. He was right, I knew. A couple more hours sleep would make the grouchiness go away, but I didn't want to go back to bed. I was finally off from school, and I wanted to be awake for every single minute of it.
I finished my breakfast and headed into the den to watch some t.v. Jenn came in with me and said, "Didn't Daddy tell you to go back to bed, Robin?"
"Who are you, my keeper?" I asked. I know that was mean, but really, who was she to tell me what to do?
"Whatever. I don't care," Jenn said. "But Daddy might."
She turned the television on and we watched Scooby Doo, and then switched over to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I took out my Barbie dolls and started to play on the rug. Jenn sat and played with me, too.
All was fine, until Jennifer decided to use my favorite Barbie. I grabbed it out of her hand and said, "NO!"
She grabbed it back and said, "Robin, I was using that one."
I took it back again, and said, "That's my favorite one and I don't want you playing with it. Besides, I'm going to dress her up for the ball."
"FINE!" Jenn shouted, "You keep it!" She threw the rest of the Barbie things down and sulked back to the couch.
Daddy came to the door of the den and said, "What's going on in here, you two?" He looked from me to Jenn and back again. His eyes settled on me and said, "Robin, didn't I tell you to go back to bed? Did you do that?"
I looked down. I was going to lie, but that never gets me anywhere but in deeper trouble. Daddy came over and lifted my chin up so that I was looking into his face. "Did you?" he asked.
Very quietly, I said, "No, sir."
Without another word, Daddy pulled me to my feet and half walked, half dragged me to the stairs. He pointed upward and said, "Go!"
I looked at him, and said, "But I'm not sleepy, Daddy!"
"Robin, do I have to come up and put you in bed myself?" he asked. He sounded mad.
"No, Daddy. But Daddy, I'm not sleepy!" I whined. Big mistake.
Daddy smacked my bottom again. HARD.
"OW!"
"Robin, I'm in no mood for this, this morning. You are acting way too whiny and grouchy. I will definitely not last the entire day dealing with you like this. Now, get into bed. I don't care if you actually sleep or not, but you will stay there for two hours."
"TWO HOURS?" I asked, shocked.
"Yes, two hours. Now get going before I change my mind and make it three," Daddy exclaimed. He gave my bottom a light smack to send me on my way. It didn't hurt like the last smack. "Remember, Robin, two hours. And if I come up to check on you, and you're not in that bed, you're going to get a big spanking. Do you understand me?"
"Yes, Daddy," I said quietly. I walked slowly up the stairs.
When I got to my room, I looked at my bed. Hmm, I thought, how would he know if I didn't get right in? I contemplated disobeying Daddy, but then thought better of it. I really was feeling sleepy. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to lay down for just a little bit. So I did.
And I must have fallen asleep, because the next thing I knew, I heard water running. I got up and peeked into the bathroom. Mommy was in there, running a bath for Jennifer.
"Oh, good, you're up! You can be next," Mommy said.
I went over and hugged Mommy. She was surprised, but she hugged me back. "Did you have a good nap?" she asked.
I nodded. I guess I really needed those two extra hours. "I'm sorry I mouthed off to you this morning, Mommy."
"Okay, sweetie, you're forgiven," Mommy said. "Now, go downstairs and see if you can help Daddy with anything. Then you'll come back up and take your bath. Okay?"
I smiled. "Okay, Mommy." I went downstairs. I wasn't grumpy anymore and I told Daddy that. He was very glad to hear it. I think he was glad, too, that he had been right about sending me back to bed. Parents always think they're right, though.
The rest of the morning went smoothly. I took my bath and both me and Jenn got dressed. We helped Mommy and Daddy around the house, cleaning, and with Stephen.
Everything was going fine, until right before everyone was supposed to show up. Mommy started flipping out. She had forgotten to buy cranberry sauce.
"Oh, my god, how could I forget that? That's one of the most important side dishes?" Mommy exclaimed.
"Honey, relax! I'll call Bob and ask him to pick it up on their way here," Daddy told Mommy.
"No, no, they can't do that. Besides, I want everything to be perfect," Mommy said. Then she sort of wrung out her hands. I thought she was going to cry.
Daddy looked around. They still had to set up the chairs and the table and set it. Stephen was crying in his playpen. I thought Mommy was going to have a nervous breakdown and that Daddy was going to kill someone.
He looked at the clock and said, "Okay, hon, I'll just run to the store and pick some up."
"Charlie, no! You know what will happen if you go there now. They'll find work for you to do. No, I'll go!" Mommy announced.
I spoke up then. "We can go, Mommy."
Jenn just looked at me. I took her to the side. "Wouldn't you like to get away from them for just a little while? They're driving me crazy."
Jenn nodded. She thought it might not be such a bad idea as well. "Yeah, Mommy, we can go buy it for you."
Mommy looked at us and then at Daddy. "I don't know, girls. I don't know if I want you walking all the way into town by yourselves."
"Well, hon, they don't even have to go into town. They can go to the corner market on Merrick Avenue. You know, the one near the junior high school," Daddy suggested.
My eyes lit up. The corner market was what we kids called the candy store. "Yeah, Mommy, we could go there!"
Mommy must have sensed why I wanted to go there all of a sudden and she looked at me. "No, Robin, no candy."
Daddy said, "Yes, no candy."
I looked at Jennifer. She shrugged her shoulders. "Okay," I said, "no candy. We'll just pick up the cranberry sauce and come home."
"Yeah, can we go, Daddy?" Jenn asked. We both knew at this point it was safer to ask Daddy rather than Mommy. Mommy would probably fall over if you tapped her. We waited for Daddy to answer.
He looked at Mommy. "What do you think, Lisa?"
"I don't know. Okay, fine, you girls can go," Mommy decided.
Daddy gave us three dollars and told us to buy two cans of cranberry sauce. "And I expect change, girls. Do you understand me?"
"Yes, Daddy," Jenn said.
All I said was "Geez," under my breath. But thankfully Daddy didn't hear me.
Jenn said, "Okay, Robin, you ready to go?"
"Um, yeah, I just want to get something from upstairs. I'll be right back."
I ran upstairs and took two dollars from my piggy bank. Oh, Daddy would get his change all right, but I would get some candy with my own money. When I went back downstairs, Daddy was giving Jennifer some last minute instructions. "Daddy, we're ten years old. We walk to and from school by ourselves every day. I think we can handle an errand to the corner market."
"Jennifer Lynn, don't get sassy with me," Daddy stated.
"Yes, Daddy, I'm sorry. Can we go now?" Jennifer asked.
"Yes, but watch that tone of voice, young lady."
I grabbed Jenn and said, "Come on, let's go, before they change their minds."
My sister and I walked to the corner store, talking and laughing about how our mother was totally losing it.
"You think she'll make it through this day, Jenn?" I asked.
Jennifer giggled. "I'm not sure, Robin. She might keel over from all the stress she's putting on herself."
We continued walking and laughing as we went. I was trying to figure out how I was going to buy candy and eat it without Jennifer seeing. I shouldn't have worried.
"Oh, man!" Jenn exclaimed.
I turned to her and said, "What's the matter?"
She looked around. "I have to go to the bathroom."
I just stared at her. I was shocked that my parents hadn't insisted she use the bathroom before we left. You see, my sister has a bladder control problem. She still wets the bed almost every night, and even has daytime accidents too. I looked around as well. We were about half a block from the store.
"They don't have a bathroom in there, Jenn. Remember that one time we asked?" I reminded her.
"I know. What am I gonna do?" Jenn said. She looked scared. She must have had to go really bad.
We continued walking and reached the store. I looked next door. It was Thanksgiving Day, probably everything would be closed.
"Hey, wait, look, Jenn!" I pointed to the coffee shop across the street. "They're open!"
Jenn stared. "Yeah, they are. But I don't know, Robin, I'll feel embarrassed."
I looked at Jennifer. "Well, which would make you more embarrassed, Jenn? Asking to use their bathroom or wetting your pants?"
"Okay, I'll go," Jenn said. She got about two feet, then turned around and came back. "Here." She handed me the three dollars that Daddy had given her. "You buy the cranberry sauce while I'm gone, and then when I come back, we can go straight home. We don't want Daddy worrying about us."
I took the proffered money. "Okay, sis, good idea!"
I waited until Jennifer was safely inside the coffee shop before I went into the corner market. I went up to the counter and paid for a Three Musketeers, a package of red licorice and some gum. I put the candy into my pocket. Then I walked around the store looking for the cranberry sauce.
Jenn came in then. She saw me and asked, "Did you get it yet?"
"No, I can't find it," I answered. Truth was, I hadn't been looking that hard.
"Well, here it is right here, dummy!" Jenn stated, as she took two cans down from a large display.
"Oh, yeah, right!" I announced, pretending to smack myself in the head.
Jenn stared at me like I was crazy. "Robin, give me the money back. I'll go pay for it."
"Okay, here," I said, handing her the money. "I'll wait for you outside."
I ran outside and opened up the candy bar. I took two quick bites and then stuffed the rest into my mouth. I was furiously chewing when my sister came out of the store. She took one look at me and frowned.
"What're you eating, Robin?" she asked.
"Nothing," I answered, with my mouth full of chocolate.
"ROBIN! Are you eating candy? Oh, my god, Daddy's gonna have a fit!"
"Jennifer! Do I need to remind you, that you are not my keeper!?" I shouted at her.
We were walking home as we argued. Jennifer held the bag containing the two cans of cranberry sauce in her arms, and stared at me.
"What're you gonna do? Daddy's gonna be so mad," she said.
"Daddy is not going to know, Jennifer. I'm certainly not going to tell him, and you had better not either," I hissed.
"You are too much, Robin!" she said quietly.
I grinned and said, "Yeah, I know." At that point, I opened up the package of Twizzlers. I offered one to Jenn. "Want one?"
She stopped and stared at me. "How much candy did you buy, Robin?"
"Just this, and this," I said, pulling out a package of Bubble Yum. Did you ever eat Bubble Yum? It's the most obnoxious tasting and smelling gum ever! I love it!
Jennifer took a piece of licorice and chewed it. "Is that why you ran upstairs before we left? To get money for candy?"
I nodded, "Yep."
We got to the house but I still had not finished my candy. I knew I couldn't bring it into the house.
"You go in, Jenn. Tell them I'm, uh, I don't know, tying my shoelace or something," I said.
Jenn looked at me. "You don't have to eat all of it now, Robin. You're gonna get a tummy ache."
"Jennifer!" I warned.
"Okay, okay, I'll tell them," she said. She shrugged her shoulders and went inside the house.
I sat on the edge of the curb and ate the rest of my candy. I was thinking about chewing a piece of gum before I went in, but then decided not to. The smell of that stuff was so strong; my parents would surely know.
I got up and turned around to go inside. I had the Twizzlers wrapper and the Three Musketeers wrapper in my hand. I was just shoving them into my pocket when I turned around and ran smack dab into Daddy.
I jumped back. He looked at me and then down at the wrappers. Daddy frowned. I looked at him and quietly said, "Hi, Daddy."
"Don't 'hi Daddy' me, young lady. You are in very big trouble. Get in the house, right now!" Daddy shouted.
I knew I had messed up big time, but I was too scared to move. I didn't want to go into the house. Daddy was angry, and Mommy would be, too. I had purposely defied both of them by buying the candy. And I had tried to eat it on the sly, which was basically hiding it from them.
I looked down at my feet. "I'm sorry, Daddy."
"Well, you will be, in a few minutes. Now get in the house, Robin Elizabeth. Unless you want me to pull your pants and panties down out here on the driveway!" Daddy scolded.
I picked up my feet and ran into the house. Daddy was close behind me. He led me into the living room, where Mommy was putting out appetizers and setting out coasters and stuff.
Mommy looked at me and then up at Daddy's face. "What happened, Charlie?" she asked. "I see you found Robin."
Daddy frowned. He washed his face without water. "Yes, hon, I did. And look what else I found." Daddy held up my candy wrappers.
Mommy looked at the wrappers and then back at me. "Oh, Robin, you didn't!"
I nodded. "Yes, Mommy, I did. I'm sorry!" I cried.
Daddy turned on me then and said, "You can save those tears, little girl, you're going to need them in a few minutes. I need to talk to Mommy. I want you to go up to your room and wait for me."
I didn't move. I just couldn't. I can't believe I did this. It was Thanksgiving Day and all Mommy wanted was for it to be perfect.
She looked up at Daddy and said, "Charlie, we have company coming over in a matter of minutes."
Daddy said, "Lisa, this little girl needs some discipline. She outright defied and disobeyed us, both of us." He turned to me and said, "Go upstairs. NOW!"
I didn't need any extra convincing when Daddy gave me a warning smack on my bottom. I ran up the stairs, into my room, and threw myself onto the bed. Here it was, Thanksgiving Day, and I was getting a spanking.
Apparently, Daddy convinced Mommy that he was doing the right thing, because before I knew it, there he was, standing in my bedroom, looking down at me. He sat on the edge of my bed and said, "Well, Robin, what do you have to say for yourself?"
I wiped the tears away and sat up. I looked at Daddy and said, "I messed up, Daddy."
Daddy nodded. "Yes, you did, lovey. And you're going to be punished for it." "Yes, sir."
Daddy stood me up and made it so I was looking right into his face. "Okay, tell me what you did wrong."
I couldn't make eye contact. Sure, the candy had been good. But, it wasn't worth it. I absolutely hated disappointing my Daddy. Daddy lifted my chin up and made me look at him again.
"Tell me, lovey."
I cringed as he said my nickname. I already felt terrible. I started to cry. "I'm sorry, Daddy. I disobeyed you and bought candy."
"Yes, you did. Tell me what else you did," Daddy said.
I took a deep breath. "I, uh, I tried to hide it from you, by eating it outside."
"Yes, and you also planned on it. You obviously took your own money with you, when I asked your sister and you to bring back change. So you were planning to disobey us."
Again, I nodded. He was right.
"Okay," he said. "Now then."
Daddy pulled me to him and slowly pulled down my pants and my panties. He let them fall to my ankles. Then he lifted me up and positioned me across his lap.
"I'm sorry to have to do this to you, on Thanksgiving Day, Robin. But you know you deserve it."
"Yes, Daddy," I cried. I was sorry, too.
Daddy started my spanking. He smacked one cheek, then the other, alternating cheeks as he spanked. Daddy spanked real hard, too.
{SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!}
Daddy lectured me as he spanked, too. "You will not {SMACK! SMACK!} disobey me or your mother. {SMACK! SMACK!} When we tell you not {SMACK! SMACK!} to do something, {SMACK! SMACK!} you will listen. {SMACK! SMACK!} We were not trying to be mean {SMACK! SMACK!} by telling you no candy. {SMACK! SMACK!} And you know that. {SMACK! SMACK!} Besides, you're ten years old, {SMACK! SMACK!} young lady, and you should know better." {SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!}
"Yes, Daddy, OWWWW, it hurts, I'm sorrrrry!"
Daddy stopped spanking. "Okay, lovey, that's all." He stood me up and hugged me close to him. He let me cry it out against his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Daddy," I said.
He pulled me away from him and looked at me and smiled. "Yes, sweetie, I know you are. It's okay, it's all over now."
"I love you, Daddy."
"I love you, too, Robin. You're forgiven," Daddy said. Then he paused and said, "Just don't do that again. You understand?"
I nodded. "Yes, sir. I won't."
~~~~~~~~~

Later that day, as the whole family sat around the table, which was beautifully set, I might add, we all held hands and had to say what we were thankful for.

Jenn looked at me and at the pillow I was sitting on and said, "I'm thankful that I can sit down, without the help of a pillow." Then she giggled.

Both Mommy and Daddy frowned. "Jennifer Lynn, you know better!" Daddy said.

Jenn looked down and said, "Yes, sir. Sorry."

I spoke up then. "I'm thankful that I have a Mommy and a Daddy that care enough about me to show me the difference between right and wrong, and love me enough to punish me when I need it."

This time both Mommy and Daddy smiled. "Good girl."

Grampsie said, "Amen, let's eat!"

And we did. And it was the most perfect Thanksgiving dinner ever. Everybody said so.

The end. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So, tink, are you happy now? Robin finally got in trouble for a change. LOL
