Kate's General Store - Part 6

"How are the girls doing, Madge?", Kate asked as she rang up Mrs. Nelson's order. "I haven't seen them in here in a couple of weeks."

"Oh, they're doing just fine...", Madge replied with a slight chuckle and a soft sigh. "Tina's in the school play coming up next week, Sandra's on the Sadie Hawkins Day dance committee, and Gloria's running to be Junior Class Secretary next fall at the community college. I don't know where they get the energy!"

Kate shrugged her shoulders. "I know what you mean. Sometimes just watching my daughters tires me out." She entered the last item and the registered responded with a loud ting. "That comes to $6.45, Madge."

The well-dressed woman opened her pocketbook and fumbled around. The cheerful expression changed. "Something's wrong...", Madge whispered, "I know I had two five-dollar bills in here this morning..." She continued searching, her face starting to turn red.

"What's the matter?", Kate asked.

Madge did everything but dump the contents of her pocketbook on the counter. "I'm missing five dollars. It was in here this morning...I checked right before breakfast."

Meanwhile, another customer got behind Mrs. Nelson with an armful of groceries. "Don't worry about it, Madge.", Kate said. "The money will turn up - I'm sure of it. I'll just put this on your account. How would that be?"

"Thank you.", the obviously flustered lady replied as she picked up her bag and started to leave. "I don't know what happened to it..."

"Gee, what a dreary Saturday...", 18-year-old Sandy complained to her sisters as the rain pelted the living room windows after breakfast. "I thought this was supposed to be spring time."

Tina and Gloria, sitting on the couch and looking very bored, agreed. "It looks like we're stuck in the house today.", Tina, 17, commented. "I'd rather go out and cut the grass or something than stay inside."

"We can always play Monopoly or Careers.", Sandy half-heartedly suggested, evoking sighs and frowns from the other two.

Gloria got up and walked to the picture window. The skies were even darker than they were earlier. "Well, we can always go to the movies."

For an instant, Sandy's and Tina's eyes lit up. Then reality set in. "With what?", Tina said. "I'm broke, and we don't get our allowance till next Saturday."

"I don't have any, either.", Sandy lamented. "I spent all of mine last week." She was now regretting treating a couple of girlfriends to milkshakes at the Soda Shop yesterday after school. "What about you, Gloria...can you lend us the money?"

Gloria had to admit she didn't have any to lend. "To tell you the truth, I was hoping you'd let me borrow some...I asked Mom for an advance on my allowance the other day, but she said she couldn't."

"I asked her, too.", Tina added. "I guess we're out of luck."

The room was silent, save for the sounds coming from the kitchen as Madge washed the dishes. "No we're not...", Gloria said softly, staring at her mother's pocketbook sitting on the coffee table. Sandy and Tina watched her walk over to it, not daring to think what the 20-year-old had in mind. Gloria paused, making sure mom was still busy, and opened the pocketbook. "Look what I found!", she whispered, holding up a five-dollar bill.

Sandy and Tina gasped. "You can't be serious!", Sandy chided in hushed tones. "That's the same as stealing!"

"That's right!", Tina said. "We can't go to the movies with that money! Put it back!"

Gloria stuffed the bill in her dress pocket. "Look, it's not stealing.", she reasoned. "It's only an advance on our allowance. And if it will make you feel better, I'll put the change back when we get home. Next week, when we get our allowance, we'll pay her back the rest. Besides, there's another five dollars in her pocketbook, and she's already done the grocery shopping. I bet she won't even leave the house today. Mom will never know it's gone. Now, if you two want to stay inside all day and be bored to death, go ahead. But I'M going to the matinee."

Gloria's twisted logic won over Tina right away, but Sandy was still skeptical. "I don't know...", the fair-skinned, blond high school senior said. "What are we going to tell her when we go out? We can't say we're going to the movies - she knows we don't have any money. And how are we going to get into town? It's pouring outside."

"I know!" Tina spoke so loudly that Gloria had to tell her to pipe down. "We all have tests coming up, right? Let's tell Mom we're going to the library this afternoon. She'll drive us and pick us up, too. The theater is right across the street. It's simple!"

Even Sandy admitted it was a good story. Still, she didn't like the whole idea. To her, it was stealing and lying, plain and simple. However, a little more persuasion on her sisters' parts changed her mind. "Oh, all right...", she finally said. "I just hope we don't get caught."

"We won't.", the other two assured.

Tina's plan worked to perfection. "Of course I'll take you to the library after lunch!", Madge said, happy that her daughters were taking extra interest in their school work. She drove them into town and let them out. "What time do you want me to pick you up?"

Gloria, clutching a notebook to her chest, looked up at the clock on top of the bank building. It was a little before one. "About 3:30, Mom.", she told her. "That should give us plenty of time."

Madge agreed, and left. "As long as I'm in town, I guess I ought to pick up those sewing supplies I need at Kate's..."

As soon as Madge got home after the embarrassing incident at the store, she searched everywhere for the missing money. Pockets, drawers, even the cookie jar. Nothing. She even called her husband, who had left on a business trip that morning, if he knew anything. He didn't. It never crossed her mind that her daughters could be responsible. The girls would never, ever take anything without asking first. That's not the way they were raised.

Before Madge knew it, it was just about time to pick up the girls. The rain had gotten worse as the day progressed, and she drove back into town in a steady downpour. While waiting at a stoplight a block from the library, she saw three figures bolt from under the theater marquee and scramble across the street, stepping in puddles and getting generally soaked in the process. "No, it can't be!", Madge mumbled. But it was. It all became clear; she knew the girls didn't have money to go to the movies because they had asked for their allowances early. "So that's where the money went! The library my eye!"

The light changed and Madge pulled up in front of the library. Gloria, Sandy, and Tina, all soaked to the skin, ran out and piled into the car. "Goodness, how did you get so wet!", she asked, hiding her anger magnificently.

"Oh, we thought we saw you coming before so we ran outside. But it wasn't; someone else has a car just like ours.", Gloria blurted out. Her sisters heaved a silent sigh of relief as the college sophomore congratulated herself on her quick thinking.

"I guess so!", Madge replied with a smile, lulling her charges into a false sense of security. "Did you get a lot of studying done?"

All three nodded their heads emphatically. "Oh, yes, Mom!", Tina exclaimed.

"That's good. Now let's get you home so you can get out of those wet clothes. You'll catch your death of pneumonia!"

Madge scooted the girls up the stairs as soon as they got in the house. Sandy and Tina went straight to their room and started peeling off the soaked garments. "What's the matter, Sandy? Why do you look so glum?", the 17-year- old asked while slipping into a pair of Bermudas. "Didn't you like the movie?"

"It was OK, I guess...", Sandy answered, tugging up the loose-fitting dungarees around her slender waist. The best-behaved of the three, she was suffering from a very guilty conscience. She knew what they did was wrong. Her mother's trust was very important to Sandy and she had very nearly thrown it away.

A guilty conscience was the last thing Tina had to worry about. The petite but shapely brunette went over to the mirror and started towel-drying her hair. "Don't be such a fuddy-duddy!", she scolded. "It may not have been the best film ever made but, gosh, it sure beat staying home and playing Monopoly or something."

Sandy sat down on the bed, rolled up the cuffs on her jeans, and put on a pair of white socks. "You just don't get it, do you?", she said with a shake of her head. "It wasn't right to take the money from Mom's pocketbook like that, and we lied to her on top of it."

"What's the big deal!", Tina snapped, knowing deep down her sister was right. She wasn't about to admit it, though. "Like Gloria said, it was only an advance on our allowances. Anyway, we got away with it. Mom won't find out. She'll figure she lost it or something."

No thoughts of remorse were bothering Gloria in her room, either. The full- figured 20-year-old had changed into slacks and blouse and was almost finished brushing her reddish-brown hair when she remembered the two dollars change that was left. "I'll just hold onto that until next week. Mom might get suspicious if she sees two dollar bills instead of a five.", she rationalized. What Gloria was really thinking about was that new Pat Boone album...

"I know it's in here somewhere...", Madge mused while searching through yet another damp cardboard box in the basement. It seemed like every toy and doll her daughters ever had was down there. "Ahhhh...there it is!", she purred, her fingers wrapping around a wooden handle. Slowly, she slid it out from under the assorted and sundry items that had kept it so well hidden all these years and held it up triumphantly. "Yes, this will do nicely..."

Gloria was the first downstairs. "When are we going to eat, Mom? Don't forget I have a date tonight, and I think Tina has a rehearsal at school."

"Shortly, Dear.", Madge answered, careful not to give her little surprise away. She turned away from her oldest daughter and snickered. "Neither you nor your sisters are going to feel much like going out tonight!", she thought to herself...

"Wow, Mom...that chicken was delicious!", Tina said after finishing her supper. Gloria also added her compliments, but Sandy didn't say a word. In fact, her mother noted that the 18-year-old had barely spoken since coming downstairs.

Madge thanked them, pushed her plate forward, and folded her hands on the table. "What are your plans for tonight?", she asked.

"I have a rehearsal tonight, Mom. Can you drive me to school around seven? I'll get Lisa's mom to bring me home."

Madge turned to Sandy. "What about you, Hon...are you going out tonight, too?"

Sandy shook her head. "No, Mom. I think I'll just stay home and read. I'm kind of tired tonight."

"You look a little pale, too. I hope you didn't catch a cold today in that rain. Gloria, you have a date tonight?"

The 20-year-old rolled her eyes and looked at the ceiling. "Yes, Mother.", she replied, sounding rather annoyed. "I told you that before. Joey Lorimar is taking me out. He's picking me up around eight-ish."

Madge smiled. "Joey's a nice boy...tell me, are you two going to the movies? 'The Bad Seed' is playing, and I hear it's really good. You haven't already seen it, have you?"

Mom had gotten her daughters' complete attention. Sandy and Tina, their stomachs tightening, turned to Gloria just in time to see her face turn red. "N-No, M-Mother...I h-haven't s-seen it. W-Why do you ask?"

"Oh, I don't know.", Madge replied with a shrug. "By the way, do any of you happen to know what happened to a five-dollar bill that was in my pocketbook this morning? After I dropped you off at the library this afternoon, I went to Kate's to pick up some things. I didn't have enough money to pay her. It was SO embarrassing."

The sisters glanced at each other and vehemently shook their heads. "N-No, M-Mother...I d-don't know anything about it...", they all stuttered, and not very convincingly.

Madge sat back and crossed her arms. "That's very interesting.", she stated in a soft monotone. "Because when I came to pick you up, I saw you running across the street from the theater to the library - that's why you got so wet. I also find it strange that three girls who had no money managed to see a movie. Would you care to elaborate?" The trio bowed their heads and said not a word. "Well, I'm waiting."

"Gloria said it was just an advance on our allowance.", Tina finally blurted, knocking the breath out of the other two. "She's the one who took it. Me and Sandy saw her."

Madge slowly rose from the table and walked over to the counter. "I see.", she said, and opened up the drawer. Three gasps filled the room when she took out a ping-pong paddle, the one that hadn't been seen - or used - in many years. "I knew I still had this. Now, I think two of you better make a phone call and cancel your plans for this evening."

"M-Mother...you c-can't be serious!", a shaking Gloria moaned. "We're t-too old to be s-spanked...and I have a date tonight..."

"Let me clarify a couple of things for you, young lady.", Madge said sternly. "First of all, as long as you live under this roof, you are not too old for a spanking - repeat, NOT. And second, the only date you have tonight is with this paddle. I intend to make very sure that all three of you won't be sitting in a movie theater or anywhere else for the next several days. Now, I suggest you and Tina make those calls."

On the verge of tears and with lower lips quivering, the condemned girls picked up the phone and cancelled their plans while Madge listened, tapping the paddle in her palm. "Good.", she said, and pulled a chair into the middle of the kitchen. "Let's get down to business." She pointed to the counter and ordered her daughters to stand in front of it. They did so grudgingly, whining and pleading their case. "Pull down your pants and underpants.", Madge told them. "All the way to your ankles."

"No, Mommmmy, pleeeease!", all three begged. Faces burning with humiliation, they apologized profusely and promised never to do it again.

Madge took a deep breath and marched towards the cowering miscreants. One by one, she turned each around and delivered a sharp smack with the paddle to the seat of the pants, eliciting a shriek. "Get them down now!"

Slowly, fumbling fingers went to work on buttons and zippers. Tina's Bermudas were the first to fall around her shoes, followed in short order by Sandy's dungarees and Gloria's slacks. They stood shaking, naked from waist to ankle and trying to hide three very hirsute pubic thatches.

"Alright, Missy...you're first." Madge took Tina by the arm and practically dragged her across the floor. While a terrified Sandy and Gloria looked on, she seated herself and placed her protesting youngest across her lap. CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! The paddle smacked Tina's firm young bottomcheeks sharply, turning the snow-white buttocks a healthy pink. "I'll show you what lying and stealing gets you in this house!", Madge promised. CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

Her reddening bottom already beginning to simmer, Tina swayed her hips and kicked her legs, desperately trying to avoid what felt like the wrath of God descending on her naked posterior. "No Mommy! No more! Please!" CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "It hurts! Please stop! AIEEEEEEE! AIEEEEEE!" CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

Without missing a stroke, Madge looked up just for a moment to make sure Sandy and Gloria were taking all this in. They most assuredly were. CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!, said the paddle. "WAAAAAHAAAAHAAAA! WAAAAHAAAAHAAA! WAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAA!", was Tina's sincere response.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "Are you ever going to do that again?", Madge demanded, continuing to apply the paddle to the 17-year-old's blistered backside.

"NO, MOMMMMMMY!", Tina sobbed. "NEVER! AIEEEEEEEE! WAAAAHAAAAAHAAA! I PROMISE I WON'T!"

Madge abruptly stopped spanking, helped the jello-legged girl to her feet, and walked her back to the counter next to her sisters. "You stay right here and don't you dare pull up your pants!" While Tina vigorously rubbed her blazing behind, her mother took Sandy by the elbow and led the hobbling 18-year-old to the chair.

"Mommy I'm sorry...", Sandy whimpered as she was placed across Madge's lap. Her answer was a loud POP across her slim buttocks, followed by intense heat. CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "Ohhhh...", she moaned, as her mom hit her intended target with unerring accuracy. The slender girl began to writhe and tears began to fall. "No movie was worth this!", was her last lucid thought before the inferno erupted and she dissolved into sobs. CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

"I hope you're proud of yourself, young lady!", Madge lectured while turning her daughter's bottom a deep crimson. CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "You should be ashamed of yourself!" CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "I never thought my daughters would stoop to stealing!" CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

Words were beyond Sandy's capability. Sobbing like a two-year-old and hampered by the jeans and panties, she futily drummed her shoes into the linoleum until Madge mercifully ended the punishment. Like Tina, she was walked back to the counter, where she wasted no time in trying to extinguish the fires raging in her red and purple behind.

"Mother, please!", Gloria begged as she was taken by the hand. "I'm too old for this! I don't want a spanking!"

Madge sat back down and flipped her across her lap. "I thought we've already gone over this!", she stated before smacking the fulsome bottom. CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "And I don't care if you want a spanking or not!" CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "You're going to get one anyway!" CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

In no time at all, Gloria's wailing blended in with her sisters' crying as her plump backside took on the color of a beet and the temperature of a blow torch. "AIEEEEE! MOMMMMMY! NOOOOOO! AIEEEEEEEE! PLEEEEEASE! I WON'T DO IT AGAIN! WAAAAAAAAAAA! NOOOOOOOO! AIEEEEEEEEE!" CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

"You of all people should know better than to take money from Mommy's pocketbook without asking!" CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "Imagine, a girl your age..." CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "...having to be spanked..." CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

"THAT'S ENOUGH MOMMMMY!", Gloria sobbed through her tears. "I'VE LEARNED MY LESSON!"

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "I believe you.", Madge said, still wielding a more than potent paddle. "But just to make sure, I'm going to leave you with a few blisters on that precious bottom of yours..." CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! "...just to help you remember..." CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

With her oldest daughter's backside properly tended to, Madge guided Gloria to the counter and went back to her seat. She nodded her head with a great deal of satisfaction as she saw the three of them crying, their pants and panties around the shoes. "OK, turn around and face the wall.", she barked. This time there was no hesitation whatsoever. They shuffled their feet and turned around, then resumed massaging their swollen and blistered behinds. "I'll bet they won't dare do that again...", Madge thought while looking at three very well-spanked bottoms.

The symphany of sobs eventually diminished; thirty minutes later the only sounds heard in the kitchen were the sniffles of three bare-bottomed Misses as they contemplated their misdeeds. "I think you've had enough time to think about what just happened.", Madge said, rising from her chair. "You can pull your pants up now. I want the dishes done, and then straight to bed. Is that understood?"

"Yes, Mommy.", the girls answered, wincing as they retrieved the fallen garments. To their great distress, they saw Madge put the paddle on top of the ice box.

"I think my little friend has found a new home.", Mom told them. "Now I won't have to look for it next time..."

Sunday morning found Madge being woken up by a gentle knocking on her bedroom door. She rubbed her eyes and looked at the clock. 7 AM. "Come in..." The door slowly opened. In came Gloria, Sandy, and Tina, still in nightgowns. Sandy was holding a tray.

The aroma of pancakes, sausage and coffee filled the room. "What do we have here!", a flabbergasted Madge managed to say while sitting up in bed.

Her daughters approached the side of the bed. "It's for you, Mom.", Sandy said, setting the tray in front of her mother.

"We know what we did yesterday was wrong, and we want to try and make it up to you.", a repentent Gloria admitted. "We should never have taken the money, and we're sorry."

"And we shouldn't have lied, either.", Tina added.

Madge felt her eyes getting moist. "Come and sit on the bed...", she said with a choking voice, "I want to give all of you a great big kiss."

The girls looked at each other, their smiles disappearing momentarily. "That's OK, Mom...", Gloria replied, putting a hand on her still-smarting bottom. "If it's all right with you, we'll just stand."

Madge stared at them for a moment, and then broke into a wide grin. "I must be the luckiest woman in the world...Of course it's all right!" The smiles returned to her daughters' faces, sore backsides and all. Everything was back to normal in the Nelson household...

The End Part 6
